| The 20-bed recovery program for men and women 18 years of age and older provides each client opportunity to participate in developing her/his own recovery plan. Clients work with their counselors to identify problems, goals and recovery strategies. They meet at least weekly to discuss progress and change. At the close of intensive treatment, together - client and counselor - they design a continuing care plan to support the client's unique recovery needs. |
| Intensive treatment comprises individual and group counseling, alcohol and other drug education, family participation, and introduction to 12-step recovery programs. |
| The length of the program varies depending on each client's needs, usually 21 - 28 days with a maximum stay of 30 days. |
| During a typical day, clients awake at 7:00 a.m. for personal hygiene, breakfast and community assignments. The morning continues with a Focus Group, a Living Sober meeting, and group counseling. In the afternoon, clients participate in two education groups and enjoy some free time. The program after dinner varies day to day. Several evenings a week a client presents her/his addiction story to the community. Twice a week representatives from Alcoholics Anonymous or Narcotics Anonymous offer an introduction to their program. Friday night starts with an Alumni-led Transition group just for clients followed by a well-attended 12-step meeting. Bedtime is 11:00 p.m. |
| Meals are prepared by two professional chefs and offered buffet style. Snacks and fruit are always available, as well as juices and de-caffeinated coffee. |
